There are many benefits of Turmeric. Fighting inflammation is the one benefit most people know about but some of the other benefits are:
- Natural antibiotic
- Helps your liver
- Controls blood pressure
- Useful for fighting arthiritis
- Controls coughs
This cookie recipe also contains pepper which is known to boost the absorption of turmeric. The recipe makes 56-60 cookies. It has one tbsp of turmeric which you could play with adding more – just go 1 tsp at a time and taste the batter- since it is vegan you can taste without worry.
You could also add vegan chocolate chips which I think would just send these cookies over the top. I just didn’t have any on hand. When they are warm out of the oven they are just delicious with some coconut butter smeared on top.
Preheat your oven to 375.
- 7 ripe bananas
- ½ cup raw cacao powder
- 1 tbsp turmeric
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/3 cup agave nectar
- 3-4 cups of rolled oats
- 2 cups walnuts
- ¼ cup chia seeds
Put bananas in food processor and process until smooth, add cacao powder, turmeric, pepper, cinnamon and agave nectar. Process until all is incorporated. Add in 3 cups of rolled oats, walnuts, and chia seeds. Process- if still too wet add in more oats. If adding vegan chocolate chips- stir them in to the batter now.
Scoop onto cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. They will not spread so you can get a lot onto a cookie sheet.
Cook for 20 minutes.
