LOOKING FOR WOMENS FITNESS IN MINDEN? KAIA FIT CAN HELP
Welcome to Kaia Fit – Minden, where we put your needs first through a variety of fitness programs for women, available childcare (check our schedule), and our Kaia FIT nutrition programs. Some of our classes include Cross-training classes, running program, barre classes, Cycling & Abs, dance fitness classes, TRX workout programs and more. We hope you’ll join us for some of our group workout classes. We deliver personalized training in a supportive group setting where you can work together with like-minded women who share similar goals. You’re more than welcome to become a part of our community!
WHAT TO DO IN MINDEN
It’s best to stay active whenever you can for optimal health – and if you know where to look, it isn’t hard to do around Minden.
- Genoa Lakes Golf Club. Here, there are two unique golf courses situated two miles apart. You can play one or both – the Ranch Course with its stunning views of the Carson Valley or the Lakes Course featuring amazing wildlife and, unsurprisingly, gorgeous lakes.
- Sheridan Creek Equestrian Center. If golf isn’t your thing, maybe you would enjoy horseback riding more. At the Sheridan Creek Equestrian Center, you can bring the kids and take part in a fun riding lesson – or just opt for a short pony ride for your child. Either way, you’ll get sunshine and fresh air and perhaps even try something new.
- Van Sickle Bi-State Park. This park is extremely accessible via a short walk from the trailhead. There are trails here for a range of fitness levels, all featuring incredible views of the largest alpine lake in North America. You’ll see hikers, bikers, equestrians and more out enjoying the park.
These are just a few ideas to get you started – as long as you keep moving, there are lots of things to see and do in the area.

Having been a club swimmer since childhood and then recruited to the University of Hawaii Manoa Swimming & Diving as Team Massage Therapist in 2001, it didn’t take Sonya long to be directed towards one of Oahu’s most popular sports of triathlon. Completing her first Olympic triathlon in 2003 at the Tinman Triathlon, Oahu’s “people’s triathlon”, she found the love of multi-sport training as well as the triathlon lifestyle. Sonya soon went on to coach swimming and cycling with Island Triathlon Training 2004-2009 and then finding her heart and home with Try Fitness Women’s Training Experts from 2009-2016, concentrating on beginner swimmers, open water swimming, all levels of cycling, walk/run coaching, as well as body work and massage for all her athletes. Sonya’s own adventures in triathlon span over the past 13 years, from multiple sprint, olympic, IRONMAN 70.3 Hawaii triathlons, open water swim races, running races of all distances, as well as countless hours volunteering and Rah Rah Cheer Squad for her fabulous triathlon friends. She is super excited to get back to tri-training in Nevada and can’t wait to Tri-Kaia!!

Nikki is the founder of Kaia FIT. She has coached gymnastics, fitness, running, triathlon training and snowboarding for 20+ years. She brings her awe-inspiring enthusiasm, motivation, and expertise to every one of her Kaia workouts. She is a NESTA Certified Personal Trainer along with certifications from TRX, JAM, Crossfit, Monkey Bar Gymnastics, USAG, and USA Track and Field.

Melissa became a Kaia girl in 2012 when she was diagnosed with a degenerative joint disease. She knew the importance of nutrition as well as physical fitness to help combat her disease and live a full life! She has a passion for Kaia Dance and became SHiNE certified in March 2017. She loves to spend her time with her husband and three children.

Marti has been a Kaia girl since 2013. She became a Kaia Coach in 2016 and is is finishing up her ACE Personal Training Certification in February 2017. She is also TRX certified. She has a BS in Journalism and a Masters in Teaching. She's spent time as a teacher, helitack firefighter, ski school instructor and office manager. She loves spending time with her grandkids and playing golf - she got her first hole in one in July 2015!

Cristi has a background in Engineering and decided to add Kaia to her lifestyle in 2011. After a bunch of years working on her own fitness, she decided to give back by becoming a coach too. She's a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, a Level 1 Animal Flow Instructor and has certifications in Kaia Flow, Kaia Run, TRX, and Shine Dance Fitness. She has been a Kaia Coach since 2015.

Katy started working out with Kaia for her own benefit long before she became a coach. She is one of our resident Kaia Run Coaches and a very resourceful Vegan. She enjoys running, wakeboarding, and boating, as well as camping, road biking, and swimming. She has completed four full marathons and has been a Kaia Coach since 2013.
