I can’t remember exactly when I discovered dry shampoo, but I do know that it was a
life changing experience.
When you wake up to workout daily, the hassle of washing + drying + styling your hair is a burden too big to
carry. Plus, I also noticed some early-onset tension alopecia, meaning the front of my hairline was thinning due
to pulling my hair back so often (so ponytails/buns were out). I can’t remember exactly when I
discovered dry shampoo, but I do know that it was a life changing experience.
Then I was introduced to my first dry shampoo, the one I still swear by today: R+Co Death Valley Dry Shampoo.
The company is vegan and gluten free (amazing!) but the price point is a little steep ($32), so I thought I
would compile a list of the top 5 rates dry shampoos that I found online and asked two of my friends who are
hair stylists!
If you haven’t used dry shampoo (or you’ve used one with poor results), it is time to give
it another go! For best usage, spray the dry shampoo near your roots and massage in. Let it set for about 3-5
minutes, then brush out (and blow dry if you’re super sweaty like me). Style as needed and go a few
days without washing! That was the big selling point for me with R+Co-I could still go 4-5 days without washing
my hair and it didn’t get clumpy or greasy!!
PS-I actually use my dry shampoo when using a curling wand or iron. It helps set the curls without hairspray! I
do have thick hair that likes to hold it’s shape FYI, but my curls will last 2-3 days vs. 1-2 without.

Touted as the #1 best-selling dry shampoo
I felt like, for the price, this worked fine, but I did have to wash my hair more often and it made my roots
feel greasy after 1 use.
- Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Dry Shampoo
$17
Voted best volumizing dry shampoo (I haven’t personally tried!)
It’s a mineral and clay based shampoo, so it helps absorb excess oil.
- Bb. Pret-a-Powder Tres Invisible Dry Shampoo with French Pink Clay
$29
Reviewers said it doesn’t leave a white residue and it actually leaves hair smelling (&
looking) clean-WIN!
