Kaia FIT Founder and Coach Nikki Warren recommended turmeric in her last live video on Facebook. I decided then that I needed to create a turmeric green smoothie recipe. I found a turmeric/black pepper blend at Costco, the brand is FEELGOOD. It is located where they keep the vitamins and supplements. Black pepper is needed for better absorption of the turmeric. I will tell say- you will taste a bit of that black pepper in the smoothie but it isn’t powerful. So this isn’t the sweetest smoothie out there but it is incredibly healthy and because we are active, finding ways to add turmeric to our daily diet is important.
The health benefits of turmeric are numerous but most importantly it is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent and natural painkiller.
Ingredients:
8 packed cups of Power Greens (from Costco)
4 scoops of the turmeric blend
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp Maca powder
1/4 cup hemp seeds
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 cup of water
Put the above ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth.
Add 6 frozen bananas to blender and fill almost to the top with water. Blend until smooth. Taste, if not sweet enough for your liking. You could add 1 or 2 Medjool dates to the blender or 1 ripe banana and blend again until smooth.
Serves 3. Serving size is 1 qt.
